Combil TAP3 Editor 1.1
Combil TAP3 Editor: Addresses the Needs of GSM Providers Combil TAP3 Editor: Addresses the Needs of GSM Providers A roaming agreement is a business agreement between two network operators to transfer items such as call charges and subscription information back and forth, as their subscribers roam into each other's areas. TAP is the process that allows a visited network operator (VPLMN) to send billing records of roaming subscribers to their respective home network operator (HPLMN) and is the global standard in GSM billing exchanges. As GSM roaming calls continue to increase rapidly, and as providers continue to develop new partnerships and upgrade their services and billing systems, GSM providers need a more effective way to operate roaming data. TAP3 is the latest version of the standard. It enables networks to bill for a host of new services that they intend to offer their customers. Take a look at the Third time lucky (Billng Magazine, July 2001) for better understanding of TAP3 capabilities. TAP3 requires a high quality of TAP exchange. Enhancing TAP quality through testing will benefit everybody, safeguard the roaming revenue of the operators and set resources of clearinghouses and operators free - set them free for new challenges! The implementation of TAP3 poses a series of problems to vendors of billing system and GSM operators. TAP3 cannot be viewed and edited with an ordinary text editor, because it is coded in ASN.1, unlike earlier TAP versions. The Combil TAP3 Editor meets the needs of roaming technical coordinators and billing administrators to analyze and correct TAP3 files during TADIG (Technology and Documentation Interoperability Group) tests. It is the perfect solution for GSM providers forging new roaming partnerships, for responding to changes in GSM partners, new service additions, changes in billing structure, and for providers who simply want an effective way to view, check and modify TAP3 files.
